New 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC Pricing Announced

Mercedes-Benz has announced the pricing for the new and redesigned 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4MATIC SUV, which comes equipped with significant upgrades in standard equipment along with a wide range of new features, more space, and improved efficiency and performance. The latest edition of the GLC 300 4MATIC SUV will be available at Canadian dealerships from coast-to-coast in June 2023, at an MSRP of $58,900. With its enhanced features and improved performance, the 2023 GLC sets a new benchmark in the premium SUV segment.

More Interior Space

One of the most significant improvements made to the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC is the added interior space. The new GLC is longer and wider, offering ample trunk space and a more welcoming environment for your passengers. The new GLC features 620 litres of total cargo space, an improvement of roughly 70 litres over the previous generation. Overall length has increased by 60 mm over the previous GLC, ensuring a longer wheelbase and therefore more leg room for passengers as well.

New and More Efficient Design

The latest GLC has an improved aerodynamic design, with a Cd of just 0.29, ensuring optimal efficiency and lowering wind noise as well on the road. Speaking of which, Mercedes-Benz engineers focused a lot of attention on the quietness of the new 2023 GLC. The bodyshell was redesigned to ensure lower friction and wind noise while new thermal insulation glass ensures that outside noise doesn’t disrupt the experience on board.

Mild-Hybrid Powertrains

The new 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300’s base engine is a new and improved version of the previous turbocharged 2.0-litre. Now featuring mild-hybrid electrification, the GLc uses a 48-volt battery to assist in a variety of situations including when starting the engine to improve fuel economy or when passing to enhance performance. The end result is more power (255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque) with better fuel economy than the previous GLC.

Enhanced Features

The new 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 offers more standard features than ever in terms of safety, comfort, and connectivity. A large centre 11.9-inch portrait display is now standard and houses the latest generation of MBUX. This is the largest standard display in the segment. Moreover, wireless charging is standard, as are heated front seats.

The new and improved parking systems have been seamlessly integrated into Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) to make operation more intuitive and user-friendly. With the aid of the visual display, drivers are able to take advantage of enhanced parking support. Moreover, emergency braking functions are built-in to protect other road users and heighten road safety.

For those seeking the ultimate parking experience, the optional extra, the 360-degree camera and the functions of Active Parking Assist with PARKTRONIC, are at your disposal. The camera provides the best possible all-round visibility and simplifies parking, enhancing the parking experience. The central display features a comprehensive view of the direct vehicle surroundings with the parking or manoeuvring process being seamless. This allows for the driver to focus on parking or completing a manoeuvre effortlessly. The display comprises of four individual camera images from the front, rear, and both sides of the vehicle, and also includes a virtual bird's eye view. Prior to activation, the driver is able to choose from different viewing angles, such as front, rear, or trailer mode. The choice is in the hands of the driver as to whether to park manually or to rely on Active Parking Assist for enhanced convenience.

Other features include improved off-road capability and features such as an off-road driving mode and DSR. The SUV also offers a "transparent engine hood" with a 360-degree camera, which allows drivers to see obstacles in front of the vehicle.

The off-road driving mode in the GLC, when combined with its 360-degree camera, provides a virtual view under the front of the vehicle, including the front wheels and their steering position. By projecting a live stream of the terrain, the driver can identify any impediments such as large stones, potholes, or bumps and forestall any damage to the car or danger to passengers. This feature provides a considerable advantage to the driver and further affirms the GLC's suitability for off-road driving.

The new off-road screen displays a broad range of information, controls, and functions, all presented on clearly arranged and well-defined screens. Among the features displayed on the driver's interface, there is inclination, gradient, topographical altitude, geo-coordinates, as well as road speed and engine speed when the car is running with an internal combustion engine. In addition, the central display shows the current position of the SUV in the terrain and the steering angle of the front wheels, ensuring that the driver is aware of the car's positioning and orientation.

The GLC has also been designed to facilitate towing. A prominent feature is the towing route planner, available on the vehicle's central display. The system lets drivers predefine the type of trailer being used, enabling it to plan appropriate routes that consider aspects like passage widths and heights. This feature, along with others, is designed to ensure towing is as safe and enjoyable as possible. The 4MATIC all-wheel drive further enhances the traction, regardless of the surface type, making the GLC a go-to choice for towing requirements.

Enhancing the towing capabilities of the GLC SUV further, the optional Trailer Manoeuvring Assist makes handling a trailer more straightforward, more comfortable, and safer. It automatically manages the towing vehicle's steering angle for speeds up to 5 km/h and gradients up to 15 percent. For the first time, the system can guide the trailer through freely selectable bends of up to 90 degrees. Once the trailer has reached the desired direction, the "pull straight" function allows for safe and precise positioning of the trailer.
